This position is responsible for the strategic direction and development of clinical engagement activities, such as member-based programs like Medication Therapy Management, that improve healthcare and lower costs through member, physician and pharmacy engagement. Lead the management of multiple complex clinical projects that address care across several stakeholders to deadline and budget expectations, to support departmental P&L goals. Partner with the product team to develop new clinical engagement activities that are integrated with the overall OptumRx strategy. Lead the pharmacy portion of Optum care program integration.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the operations for all OptumRx PBM clinical programs from program rollout, measurement, refinement, and market impact.
- Responsible for industry leading clinical outcomes and quality measurements
- Direct the program enhancement process including capability pipeline progression, defining product enhancements and determine market positioning / messaging for cross channel clinical products that improve outcomes for members
- Direct the iterative development process of new clinical strategies and enhancements, including impact on healthcare, competitive analyses, market studies, product definition, and selection of pilot clients
- Work with Clinical Analytics and others to developing outcome reporting, value proposition and product story so as to demonstrate value to the client
- Serve as executive liaison between the Clinical Engagement team and other cross-functional areas, including Product, Clinical Operations, Clinical Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Sales
- Ensure that enhancement and new initiatives are clinically sound, financially appropriate for both the Company and its customers, and meet or exceed customer goals.
- Oversee the management of the entire life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities through hand off to the operations team

Required Qualifications:
- Pharmacy D, Advanced degree
- Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license
- 10+ years of clinical and/or managed care pharmacy experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience, preferably team of teams
- Demonstrated experience regular interface with leadership levels
- 5+ years of extensive involvement in clinical pharmacy strategy
- 5+ years hands on experience clinical healthcare improvement programs
- Experience presenting and defending clinical programs/business cases to leadership
- In-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry from both clinical and business perspective
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA
- Demonstrated experience working with all levels of cross-functional teams (executives, managers, analysts)
- Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to motivate others
- Ability to make judgments about the value of ideas, needs and resources, and to effectively communicate the advantages and disadvantages of each to other decision makers
- Ability to conceptualize, align and explain strategic vision based upon multiple complex parameters, including healthcare marketplace, market trends, competitor products, emerging technologies, business opportunities, Company goals, client and consultant requests, product value, product development capabilities and product development process
- Creative, high-energy self-starter with broad background, creative drive, and innovative solutions to business needs
- Understanding of Clinical products, capabilities and marketplace needs - must think externally and strategically
- Quickly adaptive to market changes
- Solid manager and motivator of own team and cross-functional teams

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $134,200 to $257,700. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $134,200 to $257,700.
