Bay Village is a progressive, resident-focused continuing care retirement community, with skilled nursing, assisted living and independent living in Sarasota, Florida. We have a great opportunity for a Chief Operating Officer in our high occupancy environment.
The Chief Operating Officer develops and drives the policies, operational planning, and execution of performance for several departments on the campus of Bay Village. Evaluates performance and industry trends; provides both strategic and tactical direction across all clinical and operational activities.
Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) plans, organizes, and directs the operations of the healthcare services, dining services, resident services and housekeeping services within a Life Plan Community.
As a member of the executive leadership team, the position shares responsibility for the overall fiscal and operational health of the organization. The COO serves as the key advisor to the Chief Executive Officer and functions as the risk manager and privacy officer for the organization.
Florida state NHA license required.
Bachelor’s Degree in health care administration, business administration, finance, or a medical specialty
Three to five years of previous experience as a nursing home administrator in skilled nursing care
One to two years of previous experience as an administrator in memory care.
Drives, manages and executes the strategy and program performance oversight of the organization.
Liaises across multiple key internal functional areas (Clinical, Operational, Finance, etc.) to drive decisions and initiatives critical to the success of the mission.
Performs strategic planning and annual forecasting activities for the healthcare program, including the development of financial targets and measurements.
As a result of collaborative partnerships, shares responsibility for program quality improvement and accreditation initiatives in the network.
Ensures compliance requirements with positive survey results.
Comprehensive understanding of the Medicare/ Medicaid programs
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
Have a clear understanding of clinical management and managed care.
Advanced knowledge of community, state and federal laws and resources.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills - written, verbal and organizationally
Skilled in managing own time and working independently.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Forward thinker who produces results.
