Act as liaison between the medical staff, quality resource staff, payor, and managed care organizations to support performance improvement and case management throughout the organization. The physician advisor is to act as liaison between care coordination resources within the hospital and the physician community. Physician Advisor responsibilities include: resources Utilization, Quality Improvement, Denials Management, Coding/ Documentation, Developing Clinical Content and Supporting Evidence-Based Practice.
As required by RWJBarnabas Health by-laws, JCAHO, State and Federal Requirements/ recommendations. Licensed Physician in New Jersey, Board Certified - Primary Care Preferred, national certification in Quality and Utilization preferred, Knowledgeable in M&R standards and InterQual Standards, including required InterQual training within the first 30 days of hire date and annually thereafter.
