Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) announces an exceptional opportunity for a progressive physician executive to serve as Medical Director for Health Partners 2 (HP2). HP2 is a physician-led, clinically integrated network (CIN) made up of hospitals and physicians working together to improve quality of care and have better patient outcomes, while decreasing costs for patients, payers and providers. Through this network, HP2 partners pursue performance–based contracting with insurance companies at a community level and creates a mechanism for local and regional clinicians to align themselves within a network of providers. In 2018, HP2 formed a Medicare accountable care organization (ACO) to further support the organization’s ongoing development of a value-based delivery system.
In this key medical leadership role, the Medical Director will provide clinical guidance to ensure the delivery of demonstrable, value-added, patient-centered care to patients throughout the region. The Medical Director will provide medical expertise and leadership to drive the integration and coordination of care that improves quality, cost and outcomes. The Medical Director will be responsible for developing and implementing an innovative provider engagement strategy across the clinically integrated network (HP2) as well as implementing a provider performance improvement strategy to drive improved quality and cost efficiency. This newly created role will oversee the ACO quality program and help determine the future path and long term strategy for the ACOs participation in the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP).
Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is a not-for-profit community health system dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of its community. Located in Gainesville, just an hour north of Atlanta, NGHS is anchored by Northeast Georgia Medical Center's three hospital campuses – NGMC Gainesville, NGMC Braselton and NGMC Barrow – with a total of 713 beds and more than 700 medical staff members representing more than 50 specialties.
Successful candidates will have 10 years of experience in clinical practice and at least three years of demonstrated success in an administrative medicine or managed care role within an ACO, CIN or integrated care delivery network. Qualified candidates will be an MD or DO and maintain current board certification. An advanced degree in business, medical management or related field is highly preferred.
