IFMC is seeking a Medical Director for the Neuroscience ICU.
The Neuroscience ICU critical care team at Inova Fairfax Hospital is a thriving, multidisciplinary team providing coordinated care to high acuity patients. The ideal candidate will provide strategic vision and leadership to our neurocritical care program, which is an extension of our larger critical care program. The Neuroscience ICU Director will work closely with other service disciplines, including neurology, neurosurgery, and interventional neuroradiology to develop meaningful protocols and procedures related to the care of our patients. The position reports directly to the Director of Critical Care and also to the Chairman of Neurosciences.
The successful candidate will have national prominence in neurocritical care and must be board certified in neurocritical care and ideally have completed a neurocritical care fellowship and have at least 5 years of dedicated neurocritical experience. This position is eligible for a clinical faculty appointment through Virginia Commonwealth University. Scholarship, particularly when focused on quality improvement, clinical outcomes, and clinical therapeutics, is supported by a large institutional infrastructure. Candidates must also be eligible for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia. IFH is the flagship of a non-profit, multi-hospital system, consistently ranked among the top 100 hospitals in the United States. IFH has Northern Virginia’s only Level One Trauma Center. IFH is a teaching hospital, affiliated with the medical schools of Georgetown University, George Washington University and the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.
